"PERSONAL FLIGHT" Live version of this song that basically lies all in the title, meaning it as the journey in search of one's deeper inner-self that from the soul's concealed roots unravels towards the higher rappresentation and realization of itself. The seconding of one's intuitions and instinct, realizing it trying to always do the best and exalting and celebrating the noblest aspect that, even if in this case the flight is from a personal point of view, it's inside each and every one of us. The not fearing to transcend the world, the circumstances and the experiences when shows necessary to follow one's dreams and not lose personal autenticity is another fundamental message of the song. The sound is tipically A.O.R./hard-rock. "RAVING LANE" Another live version of this song that is totally hard-rock/street-glam. Through the abundant use of Q&A metaphores and double meanings we want to transmit that feeling of primal distress in relation to the narrowness of modern society. Practically a strong invitation to resist with nails and teeth in the struggle for freedom rights and for one's dreams, resorting when necessary also to extreme mental and emotional states, be them rapturing, delirious, subversive, provocatory, of perdition and, why not, even all of these together at the same time. All of it openly mocking those who hope for or even propose to surrender. "NEVER THE SAME" Acoustic version of the first song we ever wrote. Even if it was first born on an acoustic guitar it's a song that in its original version sounds street/hard like "Raving lane", even if less fast and more rythmic. The lyrics show a boy and a girl from two completely different social and cultural hemispheres. The boy, attracted by the girl's stunning beauty, tries to find common ground that isn't only based on physical attraction, opening up the doors of his introverted personality to interact with a person with definitely more superficial past, but otherwise open to new experiences and points of view. "L.A. LIVING" Another acoustic version of a song that, unlike the other one, not only it was not born this way, but also in its original version sound and beat are very close to heavy-metal, even if with shades that make it in our opinion a bit particular and anyway with an all but classic vocal melody. In the lyrics vanity, vainglory and the excesses that live in everyone's dark side are rappresented, citeing also real life episodes, in a surreal dialogue between a beautiful girl that wants to go back to Los Angeles to be part of the "bright light life" and a phantomatic entity that is the personification of "the king of the town". "2nd FLOOR" Undesputably a Hard-Rock sounding song, rich of metric, rythmic and melodic variations and with a Progressive-Rock-ish bridge that emphasises the journey that song creates. The lyrics are for some part definitely visionary, surrealistic and metaphoric, but the subtle references to the substance here adored and the city and the place that were the theatre for this autobiographic story will surely be understood by careful listeners. "PERSONAL FLIGHT" Traccia live di questa canzone che e' praticamente tutta nel titolo, intendendolo come il viaggio alla ricerca del proprio io piu' profondo che dalle recondite radici dell'anima si snoda verso la piu' alta rappresentazione e realizzazione di se stesso. L'assecondare il proprio intuito, il proprio istinto, acquisirne coscienza cercando di fare sempre del proprio meglio ed esaltando e celebrando l'aspetto piu' nobile che, anche se il volo in questo caso e' in un'ottica personale, e' dentro ognuno di noi. Il non temere di trascendere il mondo, le circostanze e le esperienze quando questo si rivela necessario per seguire i propri sogni e non smarrire la propria autenticita' e' un altro messaggio fondamentale della canzone. Attraverso l'abbondante uso di metafore e doppi sensi a botta e risposta si vuol trasmettere quel senso di affannamento primordiale in relazione alla strettezza e alla spigolosita' dell'attuale intelaiatura sociale. In pratica un vigoroso invito a resistere con le unghie e con i denti nella lotta per i diritti di liberta' e per i propri sogni, ricorrendo quando necessario anche a stati mentali ed emotivi estremi, siano essi estasianti, deliranti, sovversivi, provocatori, di perdizione e, perche' no, anche tutti questi al tempo stesso. Il tutto sbeffeggiando apertamente coloro che si auspicano o addirittura propongono la resa. "NEVER THE SAME" Versione acustica di quello che e' il primo brano in assoluto da noi composto. Anche se nato con la chitarra acustica e' un pezzo che nella sua versione originale ha sonorita' street/glam molto affini a "Raving lane", anche se meno veloce e dall'andatura piu' cadenzata. Nel testo viene raffigurato l'approccio tra un ragazzo ed una ragazza provenienti da emisferi sociali e culturali completamente diversi. Il ragazzo, attratto dalla bellezza abbagliante della ragazza, cerca un punto d'interscambio che non sia solo attrazione fisica, aprendo le porte della sua introversa personalita' e mettendola a disposizione di un'interlocutrice dai trascorsi decisamente piu' superficiali, ma tuttavia ben disposta verso nuove esperienze e punti di vista. "L.A. LIVING" Altra versione acustica di un pezzo che, a differenza dell'altro, non solo non nasce come tale, bensi' nella sua versione originale ha sound e tiro che strizzano l'occhio all'heavy-metal, anche se con sfumature che lo rendono a nostro parere un po' particolare e comunque con una melodia vocale tutt'altro che classic. Nel testo la vanita', la vanagloria e gli eccessi che albergano nella parte oscura di tutti vengono rappresentati, facendo riferimento anche ad aneddoti realmente vissuti, in un surreale dialogo tra una bella ragazza che vuole ritornare a Los Angeles per entrare a far parte della "vita che luccica" ed una fantomatica entita' che impersona "il re della citta'". "2nd FLOOR" Pezzo dalle sonorita' insindacabilmente hard-rock, ricco di variazioni metriche, ritmiche e melodiche e con inciso che strizza l'occhio al progressive-rock creando un effetto volutamente itinerante. Il testo e' a tratti decisamente visionario, surrealista e metaforico, ma all'attento ascoltatore-viaggiatore certamente non sfuggiranno i velati riferimenti alla sostanza qui venerata ed al luogo e alla citta' che furono teatro dell'autobiografica vicenda narrata. |
